Gimbal expansion joints (GS)

Gimbal expansion joints are designed to allow angular displacement in all planes what is result of tie elements (hinge plates, pins and gimbal ring). This type of expansion joint can’t be used as single unit but have to be applied in sets of two or three units depending of pipeline or in combination with single hinged expansion joint.

With application of these expansion joints, high values of movements can be compensated, advantage of this type is elimination of needs for robust fix points because force due to internal pressure is taken over by tie elements.
